Account Development Manager

Principal Duties and Outputs

To win orders with new ‘slow-win’ customers, LTV-potential customers and LTV-target customers to the value of at least £50k per month. Note that we expect this value to increase in 2021 and subsequent years.

To gather sufficient information about the customer to determine:

  • the long-term LTV strategy,
  • appropriate Account Management in Operations;
  • and the key success factors in maintaining the relationship and to ensure retention.

To ensure appropriate handover to Operations with both Customer and Colleagues

To maintain relationships on targeted accounts as agreed with the Account Development Team Leader or Operations Director. Such Customers will be your longer-term responsibility even though Operations colleagues will process their orders. To keep in touch with these customers on a regular (monthly) basis to ensure they are happy with our services.

To encourage and take customer orders via telephone and email and to identify the customers’ needs and select appropriate equipment.

To provide advice to the customer as appropriate.

To record information accurately using bespoke in house systems whilst highlighting the unique requirements of each job and maintain customer CRM/CI records.

To work on a number of jobs at any one time and to prioritise and maintain the accuracy of each job.

To receive and request training on the products and services offered and to talk knowledgably about these to customers.

You will recognise and pursue new opportunities as requested by the Team Leader and using the CRM/CI system whilst developing relationships and rapport with decision makers. You will ensure the customer receives exceptional service.

You will work closely with your colleagues and Team Leader to ensure appropriate and seamless support for your customers whilst you are responsible for them.

You will seek and spot opportunities for additional sales and explore ways to ensure that these sales are delivered within the business even though you might not deliver the orders yourself.

You may be asked to resolve or help resolve relationship issues following service and other issues with customers from time to time.

You will bring to your Team Leader concerns, observations, ideas and proposals as they arise.

Purpose of the role

To increase the Life Time Value (LTV) and revenues of new and LTV potential and targeted customers through building appropriate relationships, cross-selling, upselling and ensuring retention.

To secure the initial orders with ‘slow-win’ customers in Inbound.

Reporting Lines and Staff

Reporting to the Account Development Team Leader and working alongside appropriate Operations and Inbound colleagues, you will be working in a team of Account Development Managers.

Remuneration

You will receive a Basic Salary and a personal sales commission. The sales commission rate will increase for sales above the targeted £50k per month.
